What is the legislation on THCBD?
THCBD is currently in a transitional legal status, as this molecule is not yet explicitly classified as a narcotic in France, unlike other synthetic derivatives. This type of cannabinoid, often presented as an amplified version of CBD, benefits from a still-vague regulation framework. However, its legality remains strictly conditioned on compliance with a THC level below 0.3% in the finished product, in accordance with 2026 European standards.
Utmost vigilance is required regarding control tests. Due to its chemical structure, consuming THCBD can lead to a risk of a positive result during saliva or urine screening. Given the rapid legislative evolution and regular alerts from the ANSM regarding new synthetic products, the legal framework could shift toward a ban at any time.
