How do you choose the right resistive wire?
Choosing your wire means defining the character of your vape. For a hassle-free start, Kanthal A1 is the gold standard: stable, easy to handle, and compatible with all mods. If you are looking for faster ramp-up time or temperature control, look into Stainless Steel (SS316L) or Ni80. Your choice depends primarily on the resistance value you want to achieve and the vaping style—tight or airy—that you enjoy most.
Technically, each material has its own resistivity. The thicker the wire (diameter in mm or Gauge), the lower the resistance will be. Be mindful of compatibility: some alloys, like Nickel or Titanium, must only be used in temperature control mode. For your safety, always check the physical properties of your wire and ensure your mod supports the final ohm value of your build.
