Heisenberg or MAXX: What Really Changes

One message reaches us every month, phrased almost identically each time. Someone has been on MAXX for several months, rates it highly, and wonders why it now takes more of it to reach what less of it delivered at the start.

The answer comes down to one word, familiarity, and it has a sequel. This article lays that out as a journey, stage by stage, because that is how it happens in practice rather than as a comparison chart.

Stage 1: how you ended up on MAXX

Almost nobody starts here. People reach the range after a standard flower, then after a first entry-level molecule-enriched one, often Smile. At some point that stops being enough, and MAXX presents itself as the next step within the same supplier, with no change of brand and no new reference points.

That is a healthy route and the one we recommend. Each stage lets you measure the gap from the one before, which builds you a personal scale. Without that scale you are buying blind, trusting percentages that do not mean the same thing from one range to the next.

Stage 2: what MAXX does better than its rivals

Balance

This is its real strength and why it has held the top of the catalogue for so long. The range delivers clear intensity while staying steerable: you can use it on a Tuesday evening without writing off the night, and a misjudged dose is recoverable. Plenty of high ranges lost that balance while chasing a higher ceiling.

Three distinct profiles

White Widow MAXX on a classic resinous register, Bubble Ice MAXX on a cool one, Blueberry MAXX on fruit. Three different doors into the same intensity, which is rarer in this segment than it sounds. We wrote a comparison of the last two for anyone still hesitating.

Stage 3: the moment it tops out

It arrives, and one sign gives it away: you increase the amount. Not once out of curiosity, but routinely, until you are preparing double what you started with without thinking about it. That is the only reliable indicator, far more telling than sensation, because sensation adjusts itself without announcing it.

At that point two instincts exist and only one is sound. The poor one is to keep raising doses within the same range, which costs more for a result that carries on eroding. The sound one is to pause, or to change tier. Our MAXX dosing guide covers the first option.

Stage 4: what Heisenberg adds above

Heisenberg sits in the Bad Brothers range, under the same supplier, which matters: you change neither brand, nor cultivation standard, nor testing chain. You change tier, and that alone is plenty.

In practice two things shift. Amplitude first: the effect is broader and less linear than on MAXX. Then duration, which stretches noticeably. What you would prepare for a MAXX evening represents considerably more than necessary here, and that is the single biggest trap of the transition.

Does that mean it flattens everything else? We describe it as one of the strongest flowers available in France, and potentially the strongest of all, and that careful phrasing is deliberate: we have not tasted the entire French market, and nobody honestly has. What we can state is that it goes ahead of everything we distribute, MAXX included, and that our catalogue covers most of what is serious in this segment.

On everything else it asks more of you. The buds are dense enough to fight the grinder, the profile runs earthy and woody where MAXX offers cool and fruit, and there is no margin for error on quantity. This is not a stronger MAXX, it is a different proposition.

One practical consequence deserves a mention, because customers raise it every time. The aromatic change is not a detail: people who came to MAXX for Blueberry or for the cool register of Bubble Ice sometimes dislike Heisenberg on the first session, purely on profile rather than on intensity. That is worth knowing before ordering, and it is one more reason to start on the smallest format rather than committing to a large bag on reputation alone.

What does not change between them

The supplier stays CBD First, cultivation stays indoor, origin stays Italian, and the legal 0.3 % threshold on THC applies identically. Lab reports download the same way on both pages, and the official distributor pricing covers both ranges.

In other words, the move requires no act of faith on quality or compliance. It only requires revisiting your quantities, which is far easier to write than to do with three years of habit behind you.

Should you drop MAXX?

No, and this is the part of the article that costs us most to write. The two ranges serve different purposes. MAXX remains the one you reach for midweek, on autopilot, without organising the evening around it. Heisenberg asks for a little mental preparation, or at minimum for nothing scheduled afterwards.

The pattern that works best among our regulars is alternation. MAXX for the ordinary, Heisenberg for occasions that call for something real. It also preserves your tolerance on both, which beats wearing out the stronger one until it stops doing anything either.

Making the transition

Halve, at minimum, the amount you were preparing on MAXX. Then wait, properly, before judging. The urge to top up because nothing has landed yet is the one genuine hazard of this stage, and it gives no warning.

No driving in the hours that follow, no alcohol alongside. Adults only. In case of pregnancy, breastfeeding, an ongoing course of medical treatment or an anxious disposition, you do not move up a tier: you stay where you are, or you abstain entirely. And as always, storage goes out of reach of children.

The journey, summarised

Standard flower, then a first molecule-enriched one, then MAXX, then Heisenberg once MAXX tops out. Four stages, taken in that order, with a pause at each to measure the gap. Skipping a step saves no time, it just ruins the one after it.

If you are at the last one, the Heisenberg page carries the full detail and the lab report. If you are still weighing it up, the powerful CBD flowers category lets you put both ranges side by side before deciding.
