What is the difference between variable wattage and variable voltage?
The difference lies in how your device calculates the energy output. In Variable Wattage, you choose the final power level, and the electronics automatically adapt to your coil. In Variable Voltage, you directly set the battery's tension: if you change your coil, the perceived power will change too. Wattage mode is currently the simplest and most common option, as it guarantees consistent heating regardless of the equipment installed.
Technically, wattage follows Ohm's Law. In Watt mode, the device measures the resistance and adjusts the Volts to reach your target. In Volt mode, the tension is fixed, making the experience more direct but less automated. For your safety, stay vigilant in Voltage mode: setting the tension too high on a small coil can instantly burn your cotton. Wattage remains the safest option for both beginners and experts alike.
