What is a spaced coil?
A spaced coil is a build where the wraps do not touch each other. Unlike a contact coil, a small, regular gap is left between each turn of the wire. It is the ideal setup for those who want to avoid hassles, as it naturally eliminates hot spots and offers very responsive heating. It is also the mandatory configuration if you are using temperature control mode with specific wires like Nickel or Titanium.
From a technical standpoint, the spacing between the wraps prevents the current from taking shortcuts between the loops, which stabilizes the resistance value. It is an excellent choice for beginner safety because it requires almost no dry-fire tuning. Simply ensure the wraps are even to guarantee uniform vaporization and prevent the cotton from burning on a specific part of the build.
