Why does my coil get hot in the middle?
That is perfectly normal and exactly what you are looking for! A coil must heat up from the center outward to the edges to ensure even vaporization of your e-liquid. If the heating starts from the sides or at the connection posts, it means your build is poorly balanced or the wraps are not correctly aligned, which risks burning your cotton instantly and ruining your flavor.
Technically, central heating indicates that energy is distributing correctly through the metal mass of the wire. During dry firing, if you notice hot spots or uneven heating, lightly strum the coil with ceramic tweezers to stabilize the wraps. For your safety, always perform these adjustments using short pulses at low wattage on an electronic mod, and never touch the coil with a metal tool while pressing the fire button.
