Why do I have projections?
E-liquid projections, or "spitback," are often a sign of loosely packed cotton or insufficient power. If the cotton does not properly fill the inside of the coil, the liquid "boils" instead of vaporizing instantly, shooting out tiny hot droplets. It is a bit like water in a pan of hot oil. Precise cotton wicking and a power setting adapted to your resistance are usually enough to restore a smooth and quiet vaping experience.
Technically, spitback occurs when the ratio between the cotton's wicking and the vaporization speed is unbalanced. For your safety, avoid vaping if projections persist to prevent burning your tongue. Check that your e-liquid is not too thin for your build (prefer a higher VG ratio) and ensure that no liquid residue is sitting in your atomizer's chimney by cleaning it regularly.
