Are vape bars legal?
The status of vape bars is complex: while the self-service tap concept is appealing for its eco-friendly side, it faces extremely strict TPD regulations in-store. To be fully compliant, every bottle filled on-site would need complete labeling, a tamper-evident seal, and child safety features identical to industrial products, which presents a significant logistical challenge for many retailers.
In practice, many establishments navigate a gray area as it is nearly impossible to guarantee the compliance of a customer's own bottle or the millimetric dosing required by health standards. The law demands traceability and consumer protection that artisanal refilling sometimes struggles to match without certified laboratory equipment. In short, while the experience is fun and social, vigilance remains key regarding the actual compliance of the bottles leaving the bar.
