Tips & Guides

Should you empty the fuel tank before transporting the vehicle?

It is highly recommended to empty your tank before long-distance travel, especially if you are changing altitude or temperature. Variations in atmospheric pressure, such as during a flight or a mountain trip, push the liquid out of the tank through the air intakes, turning your bag into a sticky disaster zone. Even during a bumpy commute, constant movement can oversaturate the coil and cause unexpected leaks.

If you cannot empty it, at least try to close the airflow completely and carry your device upside down to limit pressure on the wick. Keeping an empty tank during transport is the only absolute guarantee to find your belongings dry upon arrival. In short, a little foresight will save you from a lot of cleaning chores. An empty tank means a mess-free and stress-free journey.
