Tips & Guides

Should cotton be aired?

Fluffing your cotton is an essential step to ensure proper wicking. By lightly brushing the ends of your wicks with tweezers, you separate the fibers and remove excess material. This allows the e-liquid to flow more freely from the tank to the center of the coil. Well-fluffed cotton prevents over-packing in the juice ports, saving you from burnt hits while significantly improving the flavor profile of your favorite juices.

Technically, fluffing optimizes the liquid's capillary flow toward the heating element. Be careful, however: if you remove too much cotton, you risk leaks or unpleasant spitback. For your safety, ensure the cotton remains sufficiently dense inside the coil itself to prevent any dry combustion. A balanced approach—fluffy on the ends but firm in the center—is the key to a reliable and long-lasting build over time.
