How do you test a coil?
Testing a coil is the crucial step that separates a flavorful vape from a nasty short circuit. Once your build is installed, it is mandatory to check its resistance value and ensure there are no hot spots. To do this, use an electronic mod or a dedicated ohmmeter. A properly tested coil should heat up evenly, without sudden jumps in the value displayed on the screen, thus guaranteeing a stable and secure experience.
From a technical standpoint, testing allows you to detect if the wire is touching the atomizer wall or if the screws are loose. During dry firing (the break-in period), make sure the coil doesn't show isolated glowing red spots. For your safety, never use a build where the ohm value fluctuates or displays "Short" on your screen. A rigorous test before wicking is the best insurance against electrical failures and incidents.
