This is the question that lands in our inbox more than any other, and almost nobody answers it seriously. Type the query and you will find fifteen shops each pointing at their own product with a confidence that is almost admirable.
We are going to do the same thing, with one difference: we will show you how we get there first, so you can argue with the reasoning. If it holds, the answer holds. If it does not, you will at least have a way to judge every other ranking you come across.
The number on the label does not answer the question
A stated percentage measures a concentration. It says nothing about how dense the bud is, how much material you actually have between your fingers, or how your body responds. Two flowers advertised at the same figure can deliver completely unrelated experiences, and that is the first thing a shop and a buyer end up disagreeing about.
Worse still, the percentage tells you nothing about the nature of what has been concentrated. That is exactly where any honest ranking turns, because two flowers can show similar numbers while being built on opposite principles.
Two ways of being strong, constantly confused
High CBD concentration
The first family covers flowers with a very high CBD content, produced by coating the bud in wax and pollen. The market commonly runs them between 50 and 70 %, and you will find several in the powerful CBD flowers category. They are dense products, heavy on material, and the effect is unmistakable. It still remains the same kind of effect as a standard flower, only amplified.
Molecule-enriched flower
The second family follows a different logic entirely. The term comes from growers: a molecule-enriched flower starts as a normally cultivated hemp flower, then receives an addition that changes the perceived intensity. Its stated figure is no longer comparable to the first family's, because it does not refer to the same thing. This second family is where the race for potency has been running for two years, and it is what the rest of this guide is about.
The four intensity tiers on the French market
Rather than hunting for an outright winner, it helps to understand how the market is organised. Four tiers cover it. Nobody should jump straight from the first to the last, and yet it happens every single day.
Tier 1: the classic indoor flower
Hemp flower grown indoors, unenriched, which still accounts for most of what is on sale. You buy it for the taste, for the ritual, for a light effect. Amnesia Candy Pop First sits here, as does most of the CBD flower category. Nothing at this level will catch you off guard, which is rather the point.
Tier 2: entry-level molecule-enriched flowers
Intensity climbs a clear step without leaving what a regular consumer handles without thinking. CBD First Smile holds this position in our catalogue, and its long run as our best seller is no accident: it sits precisely where most people actually want to be.
Tier 3: the high ranges
This is no longer about a pleasant end to the day. It is a pronounced experience that requires weighing a dose rather than eyeballing it. MAXX from CBD First and Poze's Formule Explosive occupy this tier, and neither brand pretends otherwise in its own marketing.
Tier 4: what sits above
A narrow band remains that very few references reach. Heisenberg, from CBD First's Bad Brothers range, sits there. Avoid the obvious misreading: this tier is not aimed at a wider audience than the one below, it is aimed at the same audience once it has exhausted tier three.
The two ranges that held the top spot
MAXX, from CBD First
Three references: White Widow MAXX, Bubble Ice MAXX and Blueberry MAXX. This is the range that moved a large share of our customers towards genuinely intense flowers, and the one that taught them to measure a dose instead of pouring one.
What MAXX does best is balance. The intensity is there without the product becoming unmanageable, the aromatic profiles stay legible, and you can use it midweek without writing off the evening. We have covered who the range is for and how to dose it, the legal framework around it and how to choose between Blueberry and White Widow elsewhere.
Formule Explosive, from Poze
A different brand with a different philosophy. Formule Explosive is Poze's high range, which we also stock. The clearest clue to its positioning is the pack size: flowers sell in 0.65 g, resins in 1.25 g. When a producer cuts formats that short, it is not stinginess, it is a judgement that nobody needs much of it lying around.
The range runs to Amnesia Haze and Lemon Flash in flower, flower fragments, two resins including Ice-o-Lator, and two pre-rolls. One technical difference deserves a mention: most of these flowers are greenhouse grown in Italy, where Heisenberg is indoor. That does not make them any less intense, but it explains part of the batch-to-batch variation. We have written a full guide to the range and a detailed review.
Heisenberg: why we rank it above
Heisenberg is a molecule-enriched flower, grown indoors in Italy, from CBD First's Bad Brothers range. The first thing you notice is not a sensation but the bud itself: compact, heavy with material, to the point that it will not break up properly by hand. Bring a grinder, and expect to work at it.
On profile it is earthy, green and resinous, closing on wood with a light peppery edge. Nothing sweet, nothing fruity. On effect, it moves past both MAXX and Formule Explosive, two ranges already among the most intense on the French market. The gap is not a fine adjustment, it is a full step.
It comes in 2 g, 4 g and 8 g. If you have never tried it, take the 2 g. Not for budget reasons: because one session will tell you whether this level suits you, and finding that out with two grams beats finding it out with eight.
Check it yourself before ordering
Whatever the flower and whatever the shop, look at the lab report before you buy. It should be dated, tied to a batch, and available without emailing anyone to request it. On our product pages it downloads directly, for every reference including Heisenberg.
The rule is identical for everyone: THC content must stay below the legal threshold of 0.3 %. A shop that is vague on this point, or that pushes you through a form to obtain a report, is a shop you leave without regret.
Moving up a tier without wrecking it
Going from tier two to tier four in a single order is the surest way to end up hating an entire product category. Start with a very small amount, well below your usual. Wait and see what it does before taking more: topping up after five minutes because nothing has happened yet is the leading cause of bad evenings.
Stay away from the wheel, and leave alcohol out of it. These products are for adults only. Four groups should abstain: anyone anxiety already works on, where a strong onset sometimes turns against them, anyone on a course of medical treatment, and women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Store it all out of reach of children, with the rest of what is none of their business.
Our answer
Based on what we stock and what passes through our hands, Heisenberg is one of the strongest flowers available in France, and potentially the strongest of all. We write that knowing exactly what MAXX and Formule Explosive are worth, since we sell both and keep recommending them to anyone who has no need to climb higher.
To judge for yourself, the Heisenberg product page carries the full detail and its downloadable lab report. To compare before deciding, the powerful CBD flowers category gathers everything discussed here, and the CBD First page covers the brand and the rest of its catalogue.
